| Selecting your Mounting Adhesive
Mounting adhesives consist of different types of adhesives optimized for a specting film with a rich textured finish and aggressive adhesive that make it perfect for interior floor graphics* or pop-up displays.
Most adhesives include a carrier that is suspended between two layers of adhesive. The carrier allows the same type of adhesive to be applied to either side or a different type of adhesive on each side. This allows for permanent adhesives on both sides and permanent / removable combinations of adhesive for graphics requiring removal after a short-term promotional campaign like floor graphic applications.
Heat-activated adhesives require heat to be used and are best used for bonding paper-based products together. They are extremely easy to use and low in cost. Using heat-activated adhesives will allow you to mount and laminate an image in one pass through the laminator - a real time saver!
The carriers used in the SEAL range of mounting adhesives, white, clear and optically clear, are designed to help you with your different application challenges. White carriers help prevent color shifts or bleed-through when mounting onto dark colored substrates, whereas optically clear adhesives allow the image to be enhanced by face mounting it to Plexiglas for high-end Backlit Displays.
Adhesive formulations are also optimized for the specific mounting surfaces you encounter. Plastic surfaces and other types vary in their surface energy and require different formulations to ensure compatibility and adhesion.
